Yaseen\u00a0Abdulrahiman\u00a0is\u00a0an\u00a0alumni\u00a0of\u00a0EU\u2019s online campus<\/a>. At the time of writing Yaseen was about to transition from a role as a Senior Consultant at msg Global Solutions<\/a>, a\u00a0German IT consulting and system integration company,\u00a0to a new position at SAP Labs<\/a>\u00a0in India. Yaseen\u00a0has\u00a0been living until recently in Passau, Germany\u00a0but has\u00a0just relocated to Bengaluru in\u00a0his native\u00a0India,\u00a0to take up his new role.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yaseen shared some advice with us for students who have moved to studying online or who are planning to start an online course.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why did you choose to study online? <\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I was working as an Onsite Coordinator in Germany which required me to manage a team of consultants working in India. I chose to study\u00a0my\u00a0MBA online<\/a>\u00a0so that my work experience\u00a0was\u00a0not\u00a0compromised\u00a0while I gained\u00a0knowledge in\u00a0management\u00a0to\u00a0help with my career. I aspire\u00a0to become\u00a0a project manager.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What advice and tips can you share with students about staying motivated?\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Get into a study routine as there is always a tendency to procrastinate when you are at home.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Try different approaches to see what works best for you. I would relate the topics you cover in the course to what you have experienced at work, making it easy to learn and write on each topic.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organize your tasks by breaking them into manageable chunks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make the\u00a0most of your MBA program,\u00a0it will\u00a0bring out the best in you.\u00a0While studying\u00a0I was facing a tough time in my life as\u00a0I was living far\u00a0away from my family. However, I used this to my advantage to engage myself fully in the program;\u00a0attending online webinars<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0completing assignments\u00a0kept me positive. Now I am glad I was able to have such focus.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What advice and tips can you share with students about keeping in touch with classmates and academic staff?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In this digital age we are all connected no matter where we are. Keep in touch with classmates by creating Whatsapp groups, speak to them via skype, etc. For the course we were divided into small groups to work together on assignments and I had a Whatsapp group for each project. We scheduled meetings where we talked and showed our progress to teammates. I kept in touch with teachers by participating in the online webinars and by emailing them whenever I had a doubt or faced an issue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What advice and tips can you share with students about studying effectively at home?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Currently, we are all facing a tough situation where we are supposed to stay at home.\u00a0 However, we have the advantage of having plenty of time to spend on\u00a0ourselves.\u00a0I would suggest all students spend this time studying\u00a0and working\u00a0to become\u00a0the\u00a0leaders\u00a0of\u00a0the future.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you share a highlight from your experience so far studying online at EU?<\/strong> <\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Studying\u00a0at\u00a0EU was a very pleasant experience for me. I came to know a lot of interesting people and during the on-campus weeks, I\u00a0was able\u00a0meet and interact with them\u00a0in person. Another highlight is that most of the online students are working professionals<\/a> from all around the world which gives you great exposure and learning experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What advice would you give to someone who has just started studying online? <\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I would advise them to consider the course seriously, engage with the program and would assure them that it can change their life! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you think is the best thing about doing a course online?  <\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The best thing is the flexibility that the program offers. I could do a full-time job and study a full-time MBA program at the same time! If you miss a class due to an important meeting, you don’t lose out on anything. You can always play the recording whenever you are free.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
