Program structure

This is a one-year program (60 ECTS), divided into three terms. Each term comprises two subject-specific courses plus a project-based module and a skills-development module.

You will also participate in real-life case studies and company visits, as well as the innovative Business Immersion Weeks which take place every term.

In order to graduate, you must also complete a Final Capstone Project (6 ECTS).

Year 1
Term 1 (18 ECTS)
Luxury & Fashion Business Management

This course aims to introduce students to the concepts of luxury and fashion business management, looking at the overreaching management of luxury houses and the management of fashion collections. Students will be introduced to the world's largest luxury conglomerates and will examine what makes them such successful managerial parents to a large portfolio of brands. Following on from this, students will look at the role of an individual small business unit (SBU) within the conglomerate's portfolio. They will learn how fashion is created in the atelier of the SBU, and follow its journey to the catwalk, the press, and finally at the point-of-sale.

3 ECTSSUBJECT-SPECIFIC MODULE

International Luxury Brand Management

The course introduces students to the importance of brand management in the luxury industry and how it creates brand value through differentiation, high quality, exclusivity, innovation, emotional appeal, heritage of craftsmanship and brand strength. The course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the key concepts of luxury brand management, including the historical and cultural context of luxury brands; development and implementation of effective luxury brand strategies; analysis of luxury brand identity and image; luxury consumer behavior and motivations; and the creation of effective retail strategies for luxury brands. Additionally, students will learn about e-commerce and digital strategies, distribution channels, industry analysis and trends, and luxury brand management challenges through case studies and projects.

3 ECTSSUBJECT-SPECIFIC MODULE

Tools for Success

Successful managers skillfully manage their resources and risks to produce a desired organizational outcome. A key and often overlooked challenge for managers is the ability to manage without influence: in other words, to gain the support of stakeholders and access to resources not directly under their control. Students will explore project management, effective negotiation and communication skills with a practical, hands-on approach through case studies and class exercises. This course will also review socio-political complexities, creativity and emotional considerations as well as approaches to maximize influence. Students will acquire the fundamental tools, concepts and behavioral skills needed to successfully lead and realize benefits from projects, negotiations and communications.

Business Immersion Week

Business Immersion Week is dedicated solely to business-related activities outside the classroom. Students take part in a wide range of events including company visits, escape rooms, managerial problem-solving games and entrepreneurial endeavors. Through this intense week of dynamic activities, students hone their business skills and put theory into practice.

1 ECTSSKILLS-DEVELOPMENT MODULE

Winning Strategies for Market Entry

This is a practical course structured as a project with an iterative format. It is designed to provide a dynamic and engaging experience of executing a strategy consulting project based on a case study. Students will learn to self-organize and collaborate with teammates to solve problems and manage projects effectively and successfully by learning to implement feedback. In addition, students will learn to apply tools and soft skills that will enable them to solve challenges and execute projects as external or internal consultants, individual contributors, or organizational leaders.

6 ECTSPROJECT-BASED MODULE

Term 2 (18 ECTS)
The Luxury Experience

This course will introduce students to the scope of luxury experience, which includes the brand retail environment both online and offline. Students will learn about innovative experiential marketing, sensory branding and customer service. The course will also cover elements of the psychology of luxury, consumer behavior in the luxury market and the role of emotions in luxury purchasing decisions. Students will learn about several theory frameworks that underpin consumer behavior and brand involvement.

3 ECTSSUBJECT-SPECIFIC MODULE

Digital Marketing & Luxury Product Strategy

This comprehensive program aims to equip students with a deep understanding of the digital marketing landscape and its critical role in luxury product strategy. The students will learn to develop and execute a digital marketing plan, including advertising and content marketing strategies, as well as e-commerce and luxury product positioning. They will also learn to measure and analyze their marketing efforts and to understand global luxury market trends and ethical considerations. The course will also cover emerging technologies and their impact on luxury marketing.

3 ECTSSUBJECT-SPECIFIC MODULE

Developing a Leadership Edge

This course equips students with the skills required to become effective leaders. Students will learn how to take decisions under uncertainty, build the capabilities needed to lead across local and international boundaries, and learn how to bridge culture gaps and differences to create value for the organization. Students will further develop the ability to lead through challenging dilemmas and explore the role of emotional intelligence in transforming a good leader into a great one. This course will equip students with the knowledge and skills required to formulate contemporary leadership strategies, which will allow for both short- and long-term success. The course takes a pragmatic, real-world approach and embraces the latest thinking in leadership development.

5 ECTSSKILLS-DEVELOPMENT MODULE

Strategic Development for Business Success

This is a practical course in strategy development structured as an agile project, culminating in creation of a strategy based on a luxury tourism case study. The course is designed to provide a dynamic and engaging experience of developing a strategy by understanding context, choices and determining goals which will determine resource allocation and defend competitive differentiation. The project will involve market research, analysis of segment attractiveness and competitive position building on capabilities and existing strengths. The final strategy will devise development of winning plays for competitive advantage aligned to the company mission and performance objectives. Students will learn to self-organize and collaborate with teammates to effectively manage content modules with group work as with a real management consulting project.

Continuous Innovation in Luxury and Fashion

Students will be introduced to innovation in luxury and fashion from a theoretical and practical perspective. Starting with innovation theory frameworks, they will examine how fashion brands have continuously engaged in innovation and learn about the trickle-down and bubble-up theories. Furthermore, students will learn about trend forecasting in the fashion business and explore new formats of brand engagement. They will be able to differentiate between macro trends and micro trends and suggest how luxury businesses can apply them to ensure brand engagement and customer satisfaction.

3 ECTSSUBJECT-SPECIFIC MODULE

Sustainable Value Creation in Fashion and Luxury

This course delves into the crucial role of sustainability in the fashion and luxury sector. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the environmental, social, and economic aspects of sustainability and its impact on industry. They will learn about sustainable materials and production methods, labor rights and working conditions, and analyze the sustainability performance of leading brands in the industry. Hands-on experience is provided through developing a sustainable strategy for a fashion or luxury brand and real-world projects, while gaining critical thinking, communication and presentation skills.

3 ECTSSUBJECT-SPECIFIC MODULE

Building Successful Teams

This course equips students with the skills required to build and lead successful, high-performance teams. The students will learn to manage team dynamics in local and global environments and navigate through corporate and cultural challenges, including crisis management, miscommunication, and conflict resolution. A hands-on approach to team development will be introduced. Considerable attention will be paid to team leadership and empowerment within an ever-changing business environment.

5 ECTSSKILLS-DEVELOPMENT MODULE

New Product Development for Growth

This project-based new product development course is designed to provide students with experience in creating and developing a new product from ideation to launch. The course follows the lean startup method. The basic principle of this method is to launch a new product as quickly as possible in order to obtain customer feedback at a very early stage. This is done in a build-measure-learn cycle, which is constantly repeated to develop a product that is designed to be as close as possible to the customer's needs. Students will learn to apply this iterative approach in a concrete case study. They will not only learn the methodological basics and the required toolbox, but also the mindset, which is fundamentally different from that of classic product development. At the end of the course, participants should be able to successfully apply the Lean Startup method in concrete product, service, and business development situations.

Graduation requirements
Final Capstone Project

This Capstone Project is an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge and skills from previous courses in their program to either create a business plan or expand on a previous project. Through this project, students will comprehensively understand business principles, methods, tactics, and practical insights into the tools and resources required to begin or manage a successful business.

Learning outcomes

In addition to industry-specific modules, the program focuses on development strategies and management styles specifically geared toward creating leaders in the industry who can also apply the same skills to the wider commercial market.

During this program, students will:

  • Investigate the impact of fashion and luxury on sustainability.
  • Learn about the brand value from the points of view of the fashion designer and artist.
  • Gage the importance of the quality of the product and all the strategies surrounding it.
  • Study the major processes within marketing through case studies and class discussion.

Degree awarded

On successful completion of this program, you will earn:

  • A university-specific degree (título propio*) awarded by Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya (UVic-UCC), Spain.
  • A master’s degree from EU Business School Switzerland, which is institutionally accredited by IQA and certified by eduQua and programmatically by ACBSP and IACBE.

Note: Upon successful completion of the graduation requirements, students who accessed this program via the Executive Bridging Program (EBP) will earn the following qualifications:

  • A master’s degree from EU Business School Switzerland, which is institutionally accredited by IQA and certified by eduQua and programmatically by ACBSP and IACBE.
  • Optional additional qualification (see below) to earn a U.K. state-recognized degree awarded by London Metropolitan University.

Additional qualification

After completing the master program, you will have the opportunity to earn an additional qualification, a U.K. state-recognized degree from London Metropolitan University (London Met).

To earn the MSc International Business Management, you must complete an additional 14-week Business Consultancy Project module (30 ECTS) and a Research Module.

Proof of English level:

Applicants must also meet one of the following:
