Bio
Dr. Özgür C. Selvi-Tasdan earned her PhD in Public Relations from Marmara University, Istanbul, and also holds an MA in Communication Strategies and Public Relations from Galatasaray University and a BA in Political and Administrative Sciences from Marmara University.
Her research centers on public relations, citizen participation, local governance, and corporate/heritage branding. She has published in Estudos Em Comunicação / Communication Studies Journal and contributed chapters to several edited volumes on public relations, propaganda, and cultural communication. Her work also includes studies on heritage brands, as well as analyses of local governments’ use of digital platforms. She has presented her research at major international conferences, including NISPAcee and the Communication in the Millennium Symposium.
Currently a Lecturer at EU Business School, Munich, she has been teaching courses in media, communication, marketing, and public relations since 2018. She previously served as Assistant Professor and Head of Department at Okan University, Istanbul. Beyond academia, she gained extensive professional experience in the automotive sector with Fiat and Renault brands, holding roles in advertising and marketing. Her career thus bridges academic research, higher education, and industry practice in communication and marketing.
